Era dimineaţă devreme în cabinetul domnului Mugur Isărescu, când a căzut bomba: domnul Mugur Isărescu a obţinut un profit cu care nu ştia ce să facă. Nimeni nu ştia de unde vine profitul şi nici de ce. Era inexplicabil. S-a crezut, iniţial, că a rezultat din tranzacţiile zilnice făcute cu pesos, celebra monedă turcească. Singurul stat cu care avem, de altfel, schimburi comerciale pe bune. Fabricanţii de blugi şi fetele cu zâmbete pauză ştiu de ce.
În fine. Puşi la marea încercare de a depista urma inexplicabilului profit, s-au adunat la sfat mai marii ţării. Şi pentru că instituţia care ocupă locul I în preferinţele românilor ocupă în continuare locul I în preferinţele românilor, s-a găsit explicaţia: profitul a venit singur, nechemat de nimeni. Era un semn divin, aproape ca o meditaţie transcendentală izvorâtă din capul marelui domnitor Becali, un semn că, în sfârşit, România fusese aleasă pentru un plan mai mare.
Aşa stând lucrurile, s-a trecut la etapa a doua din ceea ce s-a numit, instantaneu, “Magna Profitus Romaniae. Divinorum”. Şi s-a pus problema că ce anume să se facă din acest profit. Domnul Marian Vanghelie a propus să-i fie încredinţat lui. Puţini au fost de acord, mai mulţi nu. Domnul Sorin Oprescu a înaintat aproape imediat un plan de decongestionare a străzilor Iancu de Hunedoara colţ cu Griviţa. Iarăşi, nu mulţi au fost de acord. Atmosfera generală, însă, era una de conlucrare benefică, de emulaţie ideatică atât de des întâlnită în cancelariile româneşti.
Când toate părerile păreau epuizate, dintr-un colţ al mesei s-a ridicat un domn mic, cu ochelari. Ştiţi cu toţii cine e, că doar dumneavoastră l-aţi votat. Şi acest domn a glăsuit, cu voce blajină: “Eu sunt un om mic la stat, dar în timpul liber fabricant de rahat. De asta vin şi vă spun… aţi văzut dom’ne şi dumneavoastră ce ghinion a căzut peste negroteii ăia din Republica Dominicană, că au început să se mănânce între ei mai ceva ca noi. Io zic să arătăm un gest de umilinţă, de omenie şi să-i ajutăm, dom’ne, că n-o fi dracu’ chiar aşa de negru dacă nu albim amărâţii ăştia de bani. Că, vorba aia, doar asta înseamnă proces de imaginaţie a ţării.
Propunerea domniei sale a fost adoptată cu hohote de râs, cravate smulse şi câteva pârţuri vinovate. La încheierea ediţiei, un cargo românesc pleca din portul Mangalia în direcţia mai presus amintită, cu rupiile mai presus albite. A început să plutească, uşor, în – evident – cel mai mare proces de imaginaţie prost marketată a ţării.
